Dr. Danelle Wood, DVM

Associate Veterinarian

Dr. Danelle Wood is an associate veterinarian at Kingman Animal Hospital with a special interest in large animal and equine medicine. She grew up in Wakefield, Kansas but spent most of her adolescence in Wyoming. She has worked with horses and cattle most of her life while working on ranches and loves to go trail riding most of all. She also worked with draft horses at a younger age and hopes to have a team of her own one day. Danelle participated in showmanship and market hogs while she was in high school with FFA as well. Most of Danelle’s experience has been working with large animals both in terms of professional and personal interests. She has more extensive experience with sheep, goats, cattle and horses but has also worked with pigs, llamas and alpacas. Majority of Danelle’s professional experience has been with cattle and she participated on the palpation team in college. Danelle graduated from Colorado State University, where her interests in more advanced equine medicine developed. Based on these interests, Danelle plans to seek out continuing education to better understand lameness in horses, joint injections, acupuncture and physical therapy. She was mentored by a large animal veterinarian in Wyoming most of her adolescence and has shadowed several large animal veterinarians in Kansas and Colorado. Danelle is very excited to start her new adventure in Arizona and to start serving horses and livestock in the area of Kingman!
