Take a Tour

Reception Area
Upon your pet’s arrival at Kingman Animal Hospital, you will be welcomed by one or more of our friendly customer care members in our spacious lobby. Once we have your pet checked in, we will accompany you to one of our three exam rooms, where one of our friendly technicians will review any concerns you have with your pet. One of our doctors will address these concerns and perform any needed treatments in our treatment area. We also have added a comfort/quiet room for our patients and their owners that have made end-of-life decisions or need to discuss critical health issues regarding their pets. This room provides a calm area with an outside door to help during the sad and challenging times you may have with your pet. Whether you are here for your first puppy visit, an annual wellness visit, an unexpected issue, or an end-of-life appointment, our trained staff will be here for you every step of your pet’s life.

Welcome
Treatment Ward
If your pet needs any treatments done during their stay, we will bring them back to our treatment area. This is where our team of licensed technicians and assistants will perform the procedures ordered by the veterinarian to keep your pet healthy and happy. Our team is built with three experienced certified technicians, each with over 13 years of experience in veterinary care and customer service, and five veterinary assistants trained and mentored by our CVTs and doctors. Each technician is trained in all areas of the hospital, including radiography, dentistry, anesthesia, laboratory, and so much more. You can feel comfortable knowing your pet is cared for by a well-trained staff that loves animals as much as you do.

Surgery Room
Our spacious surgery suite is used for various procedures, from hysterectomies and neuters to more complex soft tissue and orthopedic surgeries. Our suite contains modern gas anesthesia machines and surgical monitors to ensure your pet is kept as safe as possible while in our care. Our doctors and staff follow the AAHA Standards of Care and ensure that our surgical field remains sterile. Doctors and surgical technicians wear surgical attire, including sterile gowns, gloves, caps, and masks. All instruments and surgical drapes are sterilized in a high-tech autoclave to ensure they are uncontaminated.
All major anesthetic and surgery cases will have blood work done prior to surgery. By evaluating blood parameters, we can determine a pet’s internal organ conditions prior to anesthesia. Any abnormalities are either treated during surgery or stabilized prior to surgery being done. This is just one more critical safety protocol necessary for your pet’s protection.
When your pet is ready to go home, we will review your postoperative care and medication instructions. If any questions arise after your pet returns home or at any other time during the postoperative period, call us. We welcome your questions and will do all we can to help your pet recover fully.
Surgery can be a source of anxiety and stress for many pet owners. Maybe you worry about whether your pet will be well cared for, or perhaps you have concerns about adequate precautions and monitoring. Let us address your concerns. We would be glad to speak with you about any surgical or anesthetic questions you have regarding your pet.

Radiology and Ultrasound
Detailed, quality radiographs (digital X-rays) are extremely important for accurate diagnostics. Our modern DR Digital machine provides our doctors with accurate and speedy digital radiographs in seconds. This new machine is sensitive enough to take digital X-rays of a small bird or iguana, yet powerful enough to handle the largest bull mastiff!

Our Phillips Ultrasound allows us to monitor pregnant pets, “see” the liver, kidney, and other abdominal organs, and even watch the valves working in the heart. The image on the right is an unborn puppy, about 55 days old!

Dentistry
Good dental care is crucial to keeping a pet healthy and happy. With our separate dental suite for our small animals, we can maximize your pet’s experience. Most of our dental procedures involve (DDR) digital dental radiography, charting, scaling (removing plaque), and polishing. We often have to extract diseased teeth as well. Serious gum infections spread bacteria to other parts of the body. Root canals and caps on teeth can be done if requested. Good dental care can add as many as three healthy years to a pet’s life!

Laboratory
To ensure rapid diagnostics, we have our own in-house laboratory. We are capable of running complete blood counts, blood chemistry panels, electrolytes, fecal and urine samples, microscopic blood and parasite exams, and testing for heartworms, Canine Parvovirus, and Feline Leukemia. For more intensive testing, we have an overnight courier service to Idexx Laboratories in Phoenix.
